Houston has been talked about as an NHL city before. There have been conversations, in group chats, on message boards and social media. Hockey fans have done it. So have Houston sports fans watching a game at any one of the several venues — even during the time when the AHL was playing at Toyota Center.
The conversations still exist, but now they’re louder and more real because the voices include the NHL, its stakeholders, a potential owner and figures within Houston’s political and sports landscape about how the city could land an expansion team.
